Grouper season has opened in the Gulf of Mexico. Be sure to check out seasons, rules, and bag limits at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at www.myfwc.com for all the updates that may be coming. MBARA Dive Team Ready to Go
With monitoring strategies now required in reef permits, the
MBARA has formed a new dive team which will monitor and conduct research on the reefs already deployed. They will do surveys for new area permits and take bottom samples when required to do so. We now have l0 certified divers ready to go. Contact Bob Cox for more information. (rcox@mchsi.com)

Triathlon at Mexico Beach-April 24
Mexico Beach will host the Beach Blast Sprint Olympic Triathlon and Duathlon on April 24 from 7-12 am at Beacon Hill Park. This is a
USA sanctioned event which will feature hundreds of men and women swimming in the ocean, biking, and running around Mexico Beach. It is a blast and fun to watch if you cannot participate. about fishing in the oceans. The Gulf Council will meet April 12 in Texas to set the new rules/changes for the Gulf of Mexico. Get educated and get involved.
August 28, 2010:Tournament Changes
Friday night party at El Governor as always. Cooking team and sausage are coming. Budweiser wagon coming too. Lots of door prizes. New Miss Kingfish will be there as well as former ones. Friday night has not changed.
On Saturday night a new fish fry will be held in Beacon Hill Park and be put on by the Mexico Beach Volunteer Fire Department from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Plates will be only $3.00 and all proceeds go to the fire department. BYOB.
A dance will follow with a live band from 8:00 - 12:00 pm at
TOUCANS on their new outdoor stage. Bigger and better than ever.
